Lissette Bousellet is one of our favorite surfers to watch on a wave. The pure perception of the sea and its fluidity inspires all who are near her.

Lissette grew up in La Serena, surfing the coasts of the Pacific Ocean, mixing surfing, wellness and health, her three great influences.

We asked a few questions in order to learn more about a person who is charting a unique path. Their influences, their icons to follow, their future plans...

What are your inspirations in surfing?

It inspires me to know that there is a lot of coastline in the world, so many different landscapes that I dream of seeing, and I am currently focused on achieving it.

To be able to continue learning and transmit all that knowledge.

When you were a child and started surfing, what inspired you?

Since I was little I was connected to the sea, but because my parents worked in the seafood and fish area and I generally surrounded myself with activities in the ocean that was my first inspiration, then at the age of 19 I was only able to know what it was like. surfing and what inspired me the most was the connection of being in the sea in silence and at the same time doing sports, which finally combined my two great passions, being outdoors and surfing.

Which surf magazine and video have you seen the most?

I found some magazines in Portugal that I loved! Especially “I love the sea side”, these magazines are written by traveling surfers and show different tips and trips to different places, they really are beautiful magazines.

There are also others in Peru and the one I liked the most is called Peruvian Waves, they really have a coast full of waves and a great experience.

My favorite videos are Sea Lone, Ladies of the Sea and Vans Karina Rozunko, it inspires me to have my own film like the ones they make.

It is said that when you surf you begin to travel, visit new countries and learn about new cultures. Do you remember an important trip for you in this regard?

I love traveling and discovering new waves, one of my dreams is to know all the longboard waves in the world, and I hope to fulfill it.

I loved the Cerro Azul wave in Peru, an incredible left and a beautiful atmosphere.

Also Peniche in Portugal, waves from the right and left, but with an incredible longboard atmosphere, everything vibrated like a longboard, I fell in love with that place.

Who are your favorite surfers today? The most interesting?

Since I started surfing on a longboard, I have been greatly inspired by Karina Rozunko's style, she is my greatest reference with a unique fluidity and beauty wherever you look at her.

Besides surfing, what interests you?

I love to travel, take on new challenges, I really like the area of well-being and the environment, and I am always willing to learn more things, I am very curious.

What is your favorite board and fins?

My current longboard is a Sea walker model from Timeless surf crafts shaped in Peru, 9.6 style and noseriding, speed, traditional line, aggressive rail set and juicy hold at the tip.

And my current favorite fin is the Patience Carena 10' model, wow it was what I needed for my noserider, I love it and it is perfect for staying on the nose.

What type of board, fin or type of surf do you want to try next?

I would love to try a bonzer, single fin model. I would try it with an Elav - Universo fin, it would be a surf with more movements and ideal for a tube.

What does progress in surfing mean to you?

Surfing is constant learning and progress, I believe it is the basis for understanding fluidity in your essence, so patience is key in the process as you well know.

Where do you want to see yourself in 10 years?

Traveling, traveling the longboard waves of the world and working creating digital content of everything I have learned over time, with my firm ventures and delivering culture to the longboard life, I constantly have many ideas... haha
